In this day and age, it is so easy to take things for granted.  There are all manner of modern conveniences around us and we tend to make full use of them without paying them any thought whatsoever.  But do you realise just how much these facilities have improved?It was not so long ago that we would need to send away a photographic film and wait for a good week or so before getting to see our pictures; but now there are digital photo processing booths in just about every British town.  The business of having your pictures developed will only take a matter of minutes these days! And this is just one example of the amazing facilities we now have at our disposal. Drink vending machines used to be a very basic affair and they would normally only offer us a choice of tea, coffee or hot chocolate.  Occasionally you would come across one that could provide you with a cup of vegetable soup and if you were really lucky then you may even get the chance of purchasing a cold drink of lime! We forget just how spoilt for choice we are with the vending units of today, don’t we? The modern commercial coffee machine has a huge selection of drinks to choose from and it is a million miles away from its predecessors. We have also seen a massive amount of improvements with units dispensing foodstuffs.  The basic choice of crisps or a bar of chocolate has been replaced with a range of many different items.  Cookies, yoghurts, fresh fruit, desserts, salads, pies and pasties are all available in the vending machines of today.  It is possible to purchase just about any meal or snack you can think of; some units will even be able to provide you with a piping hot cooked breakfast!But it is not only the range of products that has improved in these machines; it is also the quality.  In years gone by, a trip to a commercial coffee machine may have resulted in a hot drink, but it did not always have the best of tastes. . .  However, most modern units will deliver us with drinks that are just as flavoursome as you would get in a restaurant or bistro. Far more of us are aware of how important healthy foods are these days and modern machines are normally stocked with a good variety of items.  Low-fat alternatives make up a large part of a range and there are even alternative items for vegetarians or customers with food allergies.  Of course, we all need to have a treat sometimes and there are still plenty of more indulgent items to choose from!All in all, the vending machine industry has come on leaps and bounds over the years.  We now have a far better choice and the quality of goods has improved tremendously.  These machines have faithfully dispensed their items for a good many years and can now offer us an even better service.
